Getting In the Grove

Well I'm back to fill you in on how things are going here.  FoMa has a long list of things she says I have to learn so that I'm ready for my furever family.  I am ticking things off this list as fast as I can cus I just know you are waiting to take me home.  Here's a few that are old hat for me already.

Lets see....grooming.  I love getting the once over! I get checked from head to toe, including my ears, teeth and feet.  I wait in line in the morning to get my teeth brushed. I even ran off with the tube of doggy tooth paste but I had to give it back. So now I try to be first in line.  I'm real patient when I get my nails trimmed.  Last time FoMa laughed at me because I fell asleep with my tongue hanging out.  It really wasn't funny. It just meant that FoMa took forever to finish. I don't have that many nails!

House rules.  I love living inside a nice comfy house and can't wait to have one of my very own.  I can do the stairs up and down all by myself.  I look a little wonky going down but I get there.  I'm not afraid of shiny floors at all. This house does not have any carpets downstairs so I've learned to walk carefully and that playing chase with Tapper is not a good idea.  I don't climb on the furniture and I've never taken anything from the counter.  I do check for leftovers but no luck so far and I leave when FoMa says 'out'.  I know to go potty outside and that the back door is the place to stand when its time.  I plan to step it up and learn to use the bells like Tapper does. I run in my crate for every meal where I eat slowly and never try to get to Tapper's food. Water escapes me when I drink but hey its water, what do you want me to do?

Oh boy - Outside, my favorite.  Inside is cool but I still love the great outdoors. I know the difference between going outside and going for a WALK! I know how to 'hold' perfectly still while I get my leash on and off. I've learned to 'wait' at the doors until its time to go.  Sometimes it seems like we stand there for a long time but FoMa says its practice. Here's a picture of us just hanging out in the doorway.

I walk really well on the leash with out pulling or wandering from side to side.  I've learned the difference between regular walk and a sniff and mark walk. Of course sniff and mark are my favorite. I'm good at meeting both adults and little kids.  Boy those kids ask a lot of questions and there is so much to sniff on them.  I stick to the sniffing and kissing and let FoMa handle all the questions.  Here I am walking with Tapper.  I'm on the right in the red collar. FoMa should work on a better video because you can't really see my happy face.  I'm sure you don't want to see the top of my head.

Off I go to see what else is on this list.  I know I can learn a lot more things before we meet.  While I'm busy with that, you can work on the application.  Its at the top of the screen on the right.  Just tell the greyt folks at GEGR that you want to meet me. That's Comet.... with a C.  You probably already know that.
Bye now, I'm off to bed.

Moved Down the Road

Comet here.  I wanted to update everyone on what I've been doing over the past week or so.  My first foster family had to go on vacation and so they thought I should have one too.  So I have a new FoMa and new FoBro named Tapper.  The skin brothers in this house are a lot older and taller than my last home so I have to reach up now to give kisses but I don't mind.

My journey to my new foster home started with a long ride to Va Beach.  Sure hope I get a trip to the beach soon.  FoMa says I rode so well that she kept checking on me to see if I was ok.  I was just showing her that I know how to travel like a pro.  This is me 5 minutes after getting in the car. I took a very long nap.

Here I am all settled in to my new crate.  There was lots to do in there but I wanted to watch all the happenings.  Soooooo  is it dinner time yet? Getting a little hungry in here.

After a couple of days of no pee in the house, FoMa said I could hang out and sleep upstairs.  She tried to take my picture but I was determined to give her my 'stink' eye.  I'm so good that I can give it from either side.

FoMa just laughed and told me that the first foster family already told her about my stink eye.  Darn and I thought I was working it. Seems FoMa likes my happy faces so I gave in. Here you go. All smiles.

Well I'm off to learn more about this new home. Don't worry I'm not looking to stay. Vacation homes are nice but I'm still on the look out for my furever home.

Can't Wait to Meet You!

I am getting so excited for the next adopt-a-thon.  Are you getting excited to meet me?  I sure hope so.  I have been having some fun outside and even playing in the water a bit.  I can't wait to play with my forever family... maybe it's you!
So fast that it's a blur

I want to play in the water too!
